Hydraulic Equipment Sales & Service
The Valleroy family

1963 -- Richard V. Valleroy started Valpak Mfg, Inc. Valpak's main line of business was the sales of refuse handling equipment, and the servicing and manufacturing of its own line of equipment. Valpak was a distributor and service center for seven equipment sales companies, such as Lodal, Garwood, Converto Mfg, Anchor Pac, Rampac, Hyco, and its own brand Valpak.

1967 -- Valpak was growing steadily in the sales, service, and manufacturing of refuse equipment. Now with more than 50 employees strong, they found it necessary to start their own machine shop for the manufacturing of cylinders and the machining of other parts. The small machine shop that was started was incorporated under the name of R-V Industries, Inc.

1973 -- The Valpak building, which was leased, caught fire and burned to the ground. When the insurance company informed Rich that he was under-insured, and that the building owners were not going to rebuild, Valpak closed its doors. Because of the sudden turn of events, Rich found it necessary to help many of his employees find new jobs with other companies in the area.

R-V Industries, Inc. which was located in the an adjoining building, was moved to a small shop not far from the Mississippi river, and continued to operate as a machine shop.  They continued doing hydraulic equipment repairs and manufacturing for other companies.  However the business was soon in trouble again when later in 1973 the hundred-year flood came and put the shop under seven foot of water.

By 1976 the business had transformed into the manufacturing & service of hydraulic equipment.   At which time Joan Valleroy came to help with the running and building of the business.  Over the next several years Rich’s sons also began to work in the business.  In 1985 the decision was made by the family to move to our current location, which was a much larger building, and right off the highway.  At that time we found it necessary to also change our name to Valtec Hydraulics, Inc.

Over the next several years the building transformed with three large additions.  With the new larger building the work transform from primarily refuse and mobile equipment into industrial and manufacturing equipment sales and service.  In 1999 Joan and Rich retired and sold the business to their three sons, Rick, Randy, and Rod.

Over the next several years under the new management of the three sons, the business continued to grow and expand.  Then with the purchase of several new lathes, pipe bending machine, pump testing equipment, and a new automated bore welding machine.  Valtec became better equipped to handle those rush emergency repairs, and versatile enough to keep those difficult repairs in house.

In 2009 after graduating college, Robert Valleroy gained full time employment with Valtec Hydraulics. This making him the first of the third generation of Valleroy's to continue in the family business.
